Annual Report


Major Developments / Achievements : -

  • Delhi Public School, Faridabad celebrated its Annual Day on December 12 & 13, 2009 with festive fervor and unique presentation. The ceremony undoubtedly, is the most awaited and anticipated event in the school, for both staff and students alike.

    Justice N.N. Goswamy, Ex Chairman, DPS Society was the Chief Guest and Mr. Pramod Grover, Vice Chairman, DPS Society was the Guest of Honour on December 12, 2009.

    Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman, DPS Society was the Chief Guest and Lt. Gen. J.S. Bawa, Chairman Managing Committee, DPS Faridabad was the Presiding Guest on December 13, 2009.

    This year around 400 students received Proficiency Awards for the session 2008-2009. 300 students embellished the evening with their talents and artistic skills, showcasing the gala event 'Yashodhra'. The vote of thanks was proposed by Vice Principals Dr. H.S. Vashisht and Ms. Vibha Singh.

  • A workshop on 'Dental care' was conducted by Dr. Suniti Goel for the students of class IV on December 02, 2009.

  • The international maths Olympiad (IMO) for classes IV to XII was held on December 10, 2009 and the International Olympiad for Maths (IOM) for classes III and V was held on December 17, 2009.

  • Shiksha Kendra, Delhi Public School, Faridabad celebrated its Prize-distribution day 'Utsav-3' on December 28, 2009 amidst festive fervor and unique presentations.

  • Class Prep organized a special Christmas Programme 'Magical Christmas' on December 24, 2009. The function began with a melodious Orchestra followed by a Play - The Nutcracker Prince'. Children had rollicking time dancing and singing carols. The school wore a festive look with children's creative craft like bells, Santa's caps, stars, stockings, wreaths, candles displayed all around. Lt. Gen. J.S. Bawa, Chairman, Managing Committee, DPS Faridabad blessed the children with his gracious presence. Parents applauded the programme of the tiny tots. The programme concluded with the cake cutting ceremony.

  • DPS Faridabad organised a two day trip for class VI students to the 'Pink City' - Jaipur from December 17, 2009 to December 19, 2009. A group of 190 students, accompanied by 16 teachers left the school premises on December 17, 2009 at 7:00 a.m. and reached the school on December 19, 2009 with lots of sweet memories.

    Class XI was taken to the Adventure Island and class VII was taken to visit Red Fort and Rajghat on December 26, 2009.

  • Faridabad Open Tennis tournament was held at K.L. Mehta Public school, Sector-17, Faridabad from December 10 to 13, 2009. Following students bagged positions:
    Abhas Goel VIII-D Runner Up (U-14), Runner Up (U-16)
    Gaurav Pal VIII-F Runner Up (U-16 Double), Runner Up(U-14 Double)

  • Jaypee Open Junior Badminton Tournament held at Greater Noida from December 16 to 18, 2009. Results are:
    Bhavya Aneja VII-D Runner Up(U-13 & U-16)
    Samar Sheoran VIII-B Runner Up(U-16)

  • Expressions India organized following competitions on December 18, 2009 at National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Following students brought laurels to school:

  • 3 students from our school participated in the Inter School Meeting 'Prerna' held on December 19, 2009 at MVN School, Aravali Hills, Faridabad. Krittika Singh and Swati Malik from class XI stood second in the 'Making an Eco-Friendly Working Model' category. Stuti Bahl from class V secured the 2nd position in the Hasya Kavi Sammelan.

  •  Access 2009 organized BITS'N' BYTES at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. Around 60 schools from Delhi and NCR participated in it. Anuaj Raj Goel and Arpit Jain from class VIII won the third prize.

  • Dr. P.N. Kirpal Memorial Art and Recitation Competition was organized at DPS R.K. Puram, New Delhi. Akshat Agarwal, Class X won the first prize in Art and Arjun Parihar, Class IX won the special mention prize for recitation.

  • 19 students of class IX were selected for second level of Science and Maths Talent Examination. The students were amongst Top 500 students from different Delhi Public Schools.


    Innovations:-

  • 'Left week' was celebrated by class Nursery from November 30, 2009 to December 04, 2009 to teach the children the safety rules on the road.

  • Parenting session on 'Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation' for class IX was organized on December 21, 2009. Parents and teachers got an opportunity to interact with each other to discuss the pros and cons of the grading system being introduced by the CBSE.

  • A project report on water and land use in the school campus was prepared under 'Gobar Times Green School programme', by two teams of students and submitted to the centre of Science and Environment, Delhi. In this report, school's green performance was assessed.

  • Department of English organized English Literary Week - 'Showcasing the World of English' from December 28 to 31, 2009. Various activities and interclass / section competitions for classes VI- XI were designed to bring out and enhance the literary capabilities among children.

  • Class V students visited EVAD (Educational and Vocational Association for disabled) on December 29, 2009. They presented a cultural programme and gave away gifts to the children.
